To forgive someone is a very good thing to do. In fact, forgiveness is sort of like a medicine, but even better.
Snake Jake was not feeling too well. He did not have a toothache, a cold, or anything like that. He felt there was something wrong on his inside after poking fun the other day at a bright blue newcomer at Ponderings Pond.
To shake the bad feeling off, he found his friend Snake Joe and the two of them started crawling around. They found some warm rocks on the grass and crawled over them. When Jake looked to the one side, he saw that they were almost at the same spot where they had met the bright blue creature.

“Hey Jake, this place looks familiar,” said Joe.
“Uh, yeah,” mumbled Jake.
“Oh! I know where we are,” said Joe. But Jake did not want to be reminded.
“We are getting near the place where we saw that strange looking blue thing yesterday, with the big ears, the big hands and the huge nose,” said Joe, and asked, “What name did you give to him?”
“Er, uh, uh, er,” said Jake because he really did not want to say what he had called the critter. He remembered how the creature covered its face when they made fun of him.
“Oh! I know! Snout face! Yeah, snout face — that fits him, her or whatever it is, just right,” said Joe.
Just then, they came to a hole in the ground. Both snakes stopped at the edge.
“Maybe there is something to eat down there,” said Joe.
“Let’s go see,” said Jake.
So Jake and Joe slowly crept over the edge, unaware that the bright blue creature was watching them. There was also a big pole used for mooring on the other side of the hole.

Jake and Joe were more concerned about finding something to eat than being safe, so they started crawling deeper into the hole. Just near the pole, a little dirt fell into the hole. Then some more and more. The pole started moving.
All of the sudden there was a loud sound, that sounded like “no” but more like “shno!” Then it seemed like everything turned blue for both of the snakes and it felt like they were being pushed out of the hole. Next, there was a loud crash.
