A brief glimpse into my main character “James Stirling” as a prequal to my up and coming Novella.
James Stirling an Introduction
I introduce James Stirling my character for my up and coming novel.
The sun pushed its way through the velvet curtains in James Stirling’s London penthouse apartment. The oak flooring glinted in response to the sunlight. James rolled over onto his back and felt the thick bumpy scar running down the left side of his ribcage. The sabre’s blade and cleaved its way to the bone before James had time to dispatched the diamond smuggler with a .38 slug to the heart.
The automatic timer in the kitchen bleeped twice and started boiling the water for his espresso machine that James had imported from Italy. The Secret Service agent donned his black silk robe and walked into his study and switched on his computer. A myriad of LCD screens blinked on. The screens almost covered the opposite wall to his desk. James spoke into the microphone that was connected to his hard drive,
“Morning Sally, set up a video call to Baker street head quarters, contact Major Sanders”
The machine replied,
“Affirmative James”
James spun in around in his leather office chair then stopped suddenly at the sound of a creak! He pulled open a hidden drawer in his mahogany desk. James pulled out his .38 Beretta he pulled back the slide and took off the safety. James clung to the wall and worked his way around to the kitchen. Stealthily he checked every corner of the spacious apartment. James mused to himself ’Must be me just jitters cant blame myself being laid up for six weeks has got me bloody jumpy’
James held the trigger in on the Beretta and eased the slide forward to disarm the gunmetal pistol. He heard a voice in his study the video link was ready. James sat in his swivel chair and ran his hand through his jet black hair. On the LCD screens sat Major Sanders in his Air Force uniform he was around fifty years old with a shock of grey hair cut into a crew cut style, the Major spoke first,
“James you’re looking well. The doctors say your fit for duty which has made my day. I have some trade for you if you can come in to see me immediately these lines are never quite secure. Its 7.00 am now I’ll see you in an hour”
