I can’t sleep this night… again… so I decided to write about my surroundings. Here we go.
I’m sitting in my room as always, watching the full moon through the window, listening to 30’s jazz… always makes me wonder. What if my life was different? What if I did that instead of that, where would I be now? Maybe I’d be sleeping in the street, dying of starvation. Or maybe I’d be sitting warm by the fire place with the love of my life – Catherine.
My eyes are closing, but I don’t want to go to sleep. I just don’t. I look to my left. I see lots of CDs stacked up in a pile, near an old Philips stereo. I raise my eyes and see a photo of school committee with me there. I raise my eyes even higher and see all my diplomas hanging on the wall. Moving even more left I see a large book shelf. Knowledge and creativity meets there… the harmony of aligned books and jazz… it always gives some kind of nostalgia for the old times I never lived in, some world far away, long lost world. Near the book shelf, stands another shelf complex with all kinds of stuff there. Behind the window silently lies soviet army equipment: helmet, two gas masks, some hats and all kinds of decorations. This side of the room is neat and nicely complete, gives some romantic atmosphere to my room.
I turn my head right. This side of the room is the complete opposite of the left side. Near the entrance to the balcony lie a black tool box and a cardboard box with all sorts of plastic bags in it. A little further to the right, just in the corner, stands a tall closet with its contents chaotically scattered all over it. Bottom shelf is full of modeling materials left over from making of the city model. Moving a shelf higher stands two Numark Axis 9 CD players, which are dedicated to mixing music. Little higher stands 4 channel Vestax mixer and lots of audio wiring. Another shelf is full of video and photography equipment. The last shelf is a dump for most of the stuff I don’t use, like USB cables undeveloped film tapes, etc. Turning my eyes right and what do we have here? A giant you notice first when entering my room – drum set. I play drums when I have time… nothing more to tell here. Near the drums plastic bottles of Coca-Cola and Pepsi are stacking up. I’m heavily addicted to these drinks. Actually, I have some on my table now. But anyway. Biggest thing in my room is my bed. It’s still a mess from last sleep and hasn’t been made for two weeks straight. Nothing I can do about this, I’m usually too lazy or too busy. The last things on the right side are two guitars with amplifiers and two CD racks. If we moved even further, we’d see the door and eventually end up on the right side, so we gonna stop now.
That’s a quick look around my room and one of the many sleepless nights.
