My short story is about a young girl named Kantana. She is lost in the world and needs help out.
The night started with a slight fog coming from the lake nearby. A creaking noise is coming from a shed across the meadow. Someone has broken into the shed. The door from the shed is barley hanging on the hinges.
Inside the shed sits a little girl in the corner. She has her hood propped up and her head down on her knees. Her knotted brown hair is touching the dusty floor.
The wind blows and shuts the door. The bottom hing breaks, scarring the girl. She lifts up her head, her blue eyes shined from the sun setting behind the hills from across the room.
The fog from the lake is starting to creep inside the shed. The girl is starting to shiver from being to cold. She is wearing sweets, and a hoodie. The girl stands up and walks over to the door. She looks out the door, beyond the lake. She see’s an dysfunctional figure. She try’s to shut the door as much as she can. She walks by the table. Underneath the table lies a ragged blanket, with lots of holes. She walks back to the corner with her blanket. She covers herself with it, trying to be unoticeable.
In moments, the black figure is at the window looking in. The girl is making exotic noises. She does not want to be seen some reason. Scratching noises begins at the window. The girl looks out at the window through a hole in the blanket. She see’s the man. The girl does not make a move.
The man moves away from the window.
Minutes later, the man rips the door off the hinges with rage. The girl takes her head out of the blanket. “NO!” she cries.
The man walks closer, rolling up his sleeve. “This is it.” he exclaimed.
The girl runs to the other side of the shed to the window trying to get out. The guy walks closer to her, while he is unzipping his pants.
” Daddy, please not again?” She cries once more.
The dad walks to his daughter and grabs her by the neck. “Kantana, do as I tell you too.”
