Robert was surprised when Sally showed up at the karaoke. Afterwards, he walked her back to her cabin and kissed her. On the next day, at Labadee, he bought her a necklace. Jenny is suspicious of Robert’s behavior but does not let it on.
Although it was hot, Robert and the kids laid in the sun. Occasionally, they would take a dip in the sea. The kids liked being on the sandy beach with marine life, and beautiful coral reefs. They later visited an Aqua Park, bounced on trampolines, and climbed inflatables.
It was now Robert’s turn to leave them under the supervision of their mother. He took off in a motorized cart on a tour, when he spotted Sally in a bathing suite, lying under a beach umbrella. He immediately ordered the driver to stop, jumped out, and approached her. ”I never thought, I’d see you here.”
Sally looked upset. ”This can’t go on.” She said. ”I made a mistake last night.”
“That’s no mistake. We love each other.”
“Maybe you do, but I don’t.”
Sally was once again denying that she cared for him.
“You don’t really mean that?”
“I do.”
Robert approached her. Put his arms around her, and hugged her. ”You’re the light of my life. Don’t say such things.” He begged her.
“Where’s your wife?” She asked.
“She’s with the kids.”
“Do you think that we can sneak around like this?”
“Let’s take a ride aboard a waverunner.”
“I can’t.” Sally said.
“Are you going to be at this spot for awhile?” He asked her.
“Yes,” she replied.
“I be back shortly.”
Robert took off, went to one of the shops, bought Sally a necklace, and returned. Sure enough she was there waiting for him.
“I want you to have this.” He said.
“What is it?”
“Open it.”
Sally opened a small black book. She saw a golden necklace. ”I can’t accept it.” She said.
“Please do.” Robert pleaded with her. ”This is an expression of my love.”
Sally looked him over again and said, “alright, since you insist, thank you.”
He helped her put it on, “After lunch, I’ll be seeing you aboard the ship.”
He kissed her on the cheek and Sally continued lying in the sun before lunch was served. She never saw Robert again at Labadee.
Meanwhile, Robert had made his way back to his family. They decided to have lunch – buffet style, that was under one of the shelters.
“Hamburgers, hot dogs, chili, beans, buns … what else was there?” Asked Jenny.
“There are also fried chicken, French fires, lemonade, iced tea ….” Amanda explained.
There were groups of people that sat enjoying their meal on paper plates. Others drank lemonade from plastic cups. It was however hot, and before long, they took a pontoon ride back to the ship. Jenny had however noticed that Robert had gone another long time, but said nothing. She acted as though everything was fine.
