I purchased an American car over five years ago, but it was destroyed in a car crash. Later, I purchased another one of the same brand, and this is just the beginning. God made a provision and shows favor that is unexplainable.
On 9/9/09, I went to get my car key-less entry replaced because a week ago the button came off for the lock button. I went to the manufacture to get the part re-programed because it belonged to a vehicle that is no longer on the road. I thought along with the car dealer personnel that my car would need to programed to work with the new remote. They proceeded to prepare paperwork for $49 plus tax to complete the job. The service person refused to negotiate on price as well.
To my surprise, the service department could not re-program the remote. They asked for my broken one (key-less entry remote) and returned with interesting news. I waited for about a half hour for the programming. The service person came to me to say that the old remote works without any re-programming at all! Keep in mind, the vehicle that the key-less entry remote belonged to was destroyed in a car accident in 2005. Therefore, this was an entirely new vehicle that it worked perfectly with. The dealer personnel were puzzled, and questioned me about the car. This was a technology wonder before our eyes.
It appears that God allowed the key to fit where it was not supposed to fit. Moreover, the spare metal key that came from the destroyed vehicle does not work to operate the car. Luckily, I did not need it anyway. There is no reason why the key-less entry remote should work, unless the company creates all their cars to open with the same remote code. I seriously doubt that because of the amount of time the workers spent trying to re-program as if that is customary. My explanation is that God allowed me to save some money by using a remote that I never really knew why I kept. More importantly, it was meant to show His Glory and power in this world to the (expert) mechanics. Sometimes, we hold on to things that are worthwhile and God reveals why over time.
The story does not end there because I had planned to spend $49 to get the programming done. However, God had another use for that money. I was not charged because the service department did not do anything, but change the remote buttons. Due to this blessing, I was able to use that money to get some needed groceries. The bill came to $48.53, so I had change left over including tax. I am glad that I was able to bypass the service charge to get something I needed for the week instead.
For the past few months, I have been tithing regularly and I would like to believe this experience was a reward for my obedience. I like to think of this passage, Malachi 3:10: “Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.” I intend to see what other blessings are in store.
