Out with Game Machines,In with the Outdoors.
Why don’t kids play anymore?I mean, not with computers or other game machines ,but going outside to truly play. You know how we used to play when we were there age, getting dirty, playing in the rain, playing in the woods behind the house, climbing trees, playing cowboys and indians, building forts, playing night time hide and seek, etc. I could climb a tree faster than any boy in my neighbor hood.I know, parents have to work, but so did our parents and their parents, but there is nothing wrong with stopping for just ,maybe an hour to go outside with your kids and play with them, have a little fun.I was a single parent of 2 and would have to work 16 hr.shifts sometimes, but when I got home the only ones I wanted to see,hug and talk to were my kids.We would go outside even if it was night time and play for a while,Have a little fun, then we’d get showers have some dinner and when I put them to bed they’d go right o sleep, ready to do it the next day.But I understand that sometimes it’s to where you can’t,they will to if you’ll do it with them once in a while. We’ve all heard these famous words,”I can’t right now, dad’s go to finish his work”,or the mom saying,”I can’t hun,I’m on the phone or fixing dinner”.I f you’ll wash the kids hands and get the in the kitchen and let them help you with dinner or baking cookies they will love it All my kids know how to cook.My oldest son can make bicquits from scratch I taught him,now he can cook anything he wants (he’s 25 now)My daughter can to(she’s 18 now)I have 2 stepsons(one is 10 and one 11,whom I love as if they were my own)I’m teaching them to make bisquits, but they can cook most anything now we have a family cook night. So get your kids outside get out there with them, make things together, just have fun,go by there play rules sometimes.Cause one day they are gonna move out and your gonna miss them. You don’t want to be the parent that sits there and says,”I should have done things with them or been there for them instead of working all the time.” Right?
