Cats travel along the Kit Kat Trail, black cats, orange cats, many cats and frailly cats to Miss Kit Kat’s Saloon.
Have you ever heard of the Kit Kat Trail? Well, let me tell you all about it. I’m not sure were it really starts actually. But if you stand in front of my Gram’s house and look across the street you’ll see the trail quite plainly. It stretches all the way along the backyard fences over there, very, very close to the garden walls. Then, it comes across the road right to Gram’s driveway, goes through the carport, along the side wall of the neighbour’s garage, through Gram’s patio, that’s where the goldfish pool is, right along the side of Gram’s fence, around the hump of the brambly rose bush, winds around her favourite gooseberry bushes, under the low branches of the big blue Spruce tree, through the flower garden and then it disappears into the bushes of another neighbour’s garden.
Of course you can see it’s there because if you wait long enough, sooner or later you will see a cat coming along because, you see, that is where all Cats travel on their various feline affairs. Actually if you just look at the trampled grass you will see the trail quite plainly, for it’s as well marked as any trail can be.
Now if you stop at the big blue spruce tree you will see that its great wide branches droop right down to the ground.
Now, stop right there! This is where you have to sort of scrunch way down, look below the lowest branches of the big blue Spruce tree you will see that the trail leads right underneath those branches. Look a little closer just there, you’ll see there is an opening and the trail goes right along, right out of sight. It’s kind of dark under there but, if you look very closely you will see a little sign.
The sign reads “The Blue Spruce Cat Saloon, Proprietor, Miss Kit Kat Sweet “. Stuck right underneath that is posted another sign that says “Watch yer feet cause you might have to move fast if yer money don”t last’.
Now just in case you wonder, the word Proprietor means that she is the owner. Yes, that is Miss Kit Kat Sweet who is tiny and neat and ever so sweet.
Now then, if you get in a little closer you will be able to see right inside; through a fine carved wooden doorway, all decorated with garlands of catnip leaves. There above the bar, hangs a great long mirror, as anyone sitting there can see, for this is a rest stop for all cats travelling along the Kit Kat Trail.
