A restaurant in New Jersey is experiencing financial difficulties. Can Chef Ramsay save the business?
Scenario: A family-owned restaurant in New Jersey is experiencing financial problems. Bill and Adele as well as Cheryl, their 42-year-old daughter, own this restaurant. But Adele runs it. She seems to be running her mouth more than running the business. There is tension between all the employees in the restaurant, and they always seem to fight. Chef Ramsay also gets on Adele’s nerves. Cheryl is the uncooperative daughter. Bill, Adele and Cheryl like everything about their restaurant, and they have pride in everything they do, although no one else likes the restaurant or the food.
Whitehouse Station, New Jersey is located in the countryside, surrounded by farmland. Bill and Adele are retired. But in 2006, they decided to open a restaurant. Since they love Florida and mangoes, they decided to give their restaurant a tropical theme, and they named the restaurant, Flamangoes Roadhouse. Cheryl designed the decor of the restaurant. Chef Gordon Ramsay drives on the narrow dirt country road and checks out the scenic route of the countryside. He finally arrives at the Flamangoes Roadhouse.
The server, Isabelle, can’t tolerate Adele. But she feels sorry for Bill. He overworks, although he wants to retire. Bryan is the Head Chef, and he wants to redesign the menu. But no one will let him change anything. Bill tells Ramsay that he is broke. He had four restaurants before, and they were all successful. He made a lot of money on them. They used to buy and sell diners. But, for some reason, this restaurant has a lot of problems. They are not sure what they should do to save it.
Chef Ramsay checks out the restaurant. He feels the diner looks like a zoo. He talks with the owners. He then decides to taste their food. The Ahi Tuna is an appetizer, and he feels it is very spicy. He calls it an embarrassment. He tells the server to take the dish back to the kitchen and tell all of them to taste his dish. He then tries the Tiki Platter and spits out the food. He is excited to taste the Fillet Mignon because it is a classic dish. Bill tells him it is flaming, and that is why they call it, The Flaming Tsunami. Ramsay feels it is the toughest and chewiest meat he had ever tasted, and he hates the chili. Adele can’t seem to understand why Ramsay hates the food and the restaurant.
