                                                           THE LAW OF LOVE

                                                                                    -Avleen Kaur Lamba

During a recent trip to Rajasthan with my grand mother, I learnt to be independent; as it was the first time I was travelling without my mother. But another thing the trip made me learn was “The Law of Love”. My dad used to often refer of this law but I understood it now. The Law of Love is related to the simple philosophy of scientific life i.e. what we give in life to others or our earth, we get back the same. If we disturb the nature for example, we in turn would get our health worsened and ecological imbalance. And in this case too if we give love to somebody we would receive love from him too. I happened to understand this when I met an old uncle in Rajasthan. He used to come with his wife everyday to meet my grandma and while the ladies sat chit chatting, I went to sit beside him. As we were getting bored I started to talk on a topic and I came to know that he was an interesting figure. He recited me many thoughts and quotes and also narrated me few incidents of his life. He had struggled through his life and had also enjoyed every bit of it! As we shared experiences everyday we laughed out and became great friends shortly! We were so impressed with each other that we promised to meet again soon! He gave me his word that he would visit Chandigarh before long! I then came to understand that once I gave love to my uncle I received the same from him too! This law has no boundaries. I, half my uncle’s age was able to bond with him so well. Recently when the dogs of our society gave birth to four puppies, those little masters were adored by all. When children of other societies came to see them, their mother barked at them but never showed an eye to us. Even they understood this law of  give and take. This law even had a place in Gandhi ji’s ideals of non-violence as he said that if someone hits you, you should never hit him back and reward him with friendship which will surely terminate his anger one fine day and even come back to you.
