A short story.
Lena was walking along the shore, collecting shells like she always did in her free time, but, this time was different, something was going to happen the would drastically change Lena’s life. Lena was Seventeen, she had Red hair, pale skin, and she had very few friends, because people didn’t like the fact that she still believed in mythical creatures and for this reason they thought her to be childish and lugubrious, but Lena would soon discover the truth, that had been waiting just beyond her reach, until today.
Lena thought to herself, ” yes, come on, only Three more minutes till I escape this dreary prison!” Lena was of course thinking of the academy she currently attended, which she absolutely despised. ” Finally!” She said when her pale skin collided with a crisp burst of air from the outside world, ” I’m free from this horrid place!” To explain further, Lena had just finished her last course at The Academy of Sulexia, or as she called it, “The Prison of Sulexia” because more often then not, Lena was sitting in the Headmaster’s office, waiting to be sentenced to a humiliating, and overly cruel punishment where she would do work, and simultaneously be laughed at by the malinger students that walked the halls. ” But, now I’m FREE!” Lena thought again, this time with more enthusiasm. So Lena walked home where she told her step-mother she would be at the beach. Then, with a wave good-bye, Lena ran to the beach, the only place where she felt appreciated. After a few minutes, she was in her special cave, where she always looked upon her large collection of shells, and often listened to the swelling of the waves, which lulled her into a state of euphoria.
Lena awoke with a start, she had fallen asleep, but what had woken her up? She was so comfortable just a moment before? Then she heard it. ” heehee, hush sister!” “Hello?” “is anyone there?” Lena said. Lena then followed the hushed whispers just to find the end of the cave. she wondered, “where did those noises come from?” then she noticed a faint humming sound coming from her left, she turned and saw an Oval-ish shape that resembled an egg. Then she realized it was an egg! She picked it up, it was very large, and it weighed an unusual amount. She stroked it gently with her thumb, it was smooth to the touch. Lena decided to add this to her collection, even though it was blatant that it was an egg not a shell, it gave her a… strange feeling.
