Lost love.

This knot in my stomach
And this lump in my throat
And this water welling up in my eyes

Why is this still happining?
Aren’t I over you?
Obviously not.

I don’t talk to you
I don’t think about you
I don’t feel quite as strongly

Then you cross my mind
I see a picture
Someone says your name

It all comes rushing back
Your face, your smell
Your voice, your taste

Why can’t I let you go?
You still have such a hold on me
I want to let you go

But you matter too much to me
You’re such a big part of my life
You’re just too important

I can’t forget you
I can’t forget you
Have you forgotten me?

A nice poem, easy to relate to. I know I’ve felt this, and so have others, that’s something that makes it great. Keep up the writing!
