Brenda always wanted to be a singer she wrote her own lyrics and played on her keyboard. Many nights Brenda would dream about becoming famous and owning her own music studio. She studied and took music classes as well as vocal classes. Brenda had inner and outer beauty. She was a mother’s dream and a father’s prize. One day Brenda received a phone call from a record producer he was well known in the business. Brenda was excited to receive such a phone call that she nearly wet her pants. She tries so hard to keep her outbursts in but they came out anyway. The voice on the other end was stern and spoke with knowledge. He asked Brenda how much she loved performing and Brenda yelled more than anything. He said well I think that you are what the business needs and I want to offer you a contract. Brenda was filled with joy. Brenda asked him if he spoke with her manager and he said he did. He told Brenda that he wanted to meet with her around 12:00 p.m. the next day and Brenda agreed. She wanted to ask him one last question but he hung up.

Brenda called out for her mom and dad she wiped a tear from her eyes and said mom dad I ‘m going to meet with a record producer tomorrow. They smiled and said are you sure this is legit, Brenda nodded. She began to sing down the hall way and ran and dived in her bed. The phone began to ring and on the other end was Brenda’s best friend Felisha. Felisha was calling out to Brenda but their was silence. Felisha called Brenda’s name once again and it seemed to get Brenda’s attention because she laughed. Felisha asked Brenda if she was alright and Brenda said I’m more than alright. She chuckled and yelled I am meeting with a well known record producer tomorrow and I just know that I’m on my way. Felisha said I’ve been praying that you’ll get that very important phone call. Brenda said I have to get ready for tomorrow so we’ll chat later. Felisha said call me after the meeting. 

Brenda fell asleep and before she knew it, it was the next morning. Her nerves were out of control she was excited but filled with fear at the same time. She called her manager but their was no response. She pulled out an outfit that she brought a month ago for any special event. She decided to ask her cousin if she had time to do something to her hair. Brenda picked up the phone and to call her cousin Jaslin and the phone rang and rang. Brenda was disappointed but decided to touch up her hair herself. She looked in her drawer for her favorite makeup and laid it on the table. She went in the bathroom to find her mom’s expensive perfume. Brenda went to take a long bath and while sitting in the water a thought came in her head. She began to doubt her engagement with the record producer. She did not know why such a thought came into her head.
