A story of an endangered race on the run from a race that masters all evil for their plans.
Getting dumped after being unconscious is not a good feeling. You wake up, not knowing what to do. You don’t know what happened, how it happened and why it happened but one thing you would know. Finding a home is inevitable.
The small lean-to at the bottom of the pit was Astor’s home now. He was a little Cosofua. His parents abandoned him when he was a small boy, to defend for himself while his parents went to help fight in a war. All Astor could remember was his mother crying and his father rushing them both away as the small boy lay unconscious and unmoving for the next few hours.
Astor had been jolted awake as the sound of the War-machines tore through his town, no more than 5 kilometers. Astor knew he could not walk that far without water, and he had no water container to hold water in. So he stayed and got used to the life of a wanted Cosofua hunting and surviving unaided.
Astor walked down the path towards his small lean-to that was cleverly disguised in the bushes he had made. He got to the edge of the pit and jumped down. He walked inside his home and saw an unknown intruder standing at the far end of the hidden lean-to.
“How did you find me?” Astor asked. The Frafatu walked towards Astor and stroked Astor’s chin.
“Its so amazing how handsome a stinking, orphaned Cosofua could look. I really don’t need to answer your question. I’m only here for you,” Herita walked around the lean-to looking at the walls, “the bounty on your capture would more than pay for my loan on my hover bike. You know, I used to have lots of Cosofua’s as friends, until they betrayed the one I loved. Then my father led the attacks on you and endangered your species. You are one of the few that are left and I need the bounty money,” Herita said.
“Why am I the only Cosofua you chose?” Astor asked.
“Because your parents told me where you were. I held them captive for four years now. They had ran for years before you were born. They ran with you in their arms when they were chased. When they could no longer take care of you, I told them were you could seek safe refuge. Once they put you here, I helped arrest them, knowing that you will be worth more than a million Quatzos. I watched over you to keep you safe. Then when I knew you started wandering, I started tracking you. Then that was the time your parents became useless to me. So I killed them. I killed them in the worst possible way anyone could. I let them bleed and I kept on lacerating them until they were practically crying to die, and then I abided. I still remember their pleading faces as they sank beneath their own strength,” Herita said. Astor was filled with fury as he realized the truth in all of this. Herita, the one his parents trusted, betrayed his parents and killed them to get to him.
