The process of burial has not changed much over time, but now technology can bring comfort to those grieving. With some codes, the graves can tell the story of the buried life.
A company in Seattle has created so-called “burial markers, which include a code scanned, and image size of a postage stamp that can be read by a machine that recognizes QR codes.
These codes can be placed on the grave, so visitors can learn more about the one they lost, and can even leave messages of encouragement to friends and family members will visit the tomb. All you need is a smartphone and a special application to do this to be possible.

Death and desire of people to remember loved ones led to the establishment of Quiring Monuments, a company that helps people to move more easily over the loss.
“My job is to help people put their story on the stone,” said company founder Dave Quiring.
Quiring inherited the business 43 years ago, when his father died. Since then he used bronze, glass, steel and even color photos to achieve the tombstones, but now crossed into the digital era: providing graves QR codes.
Surely you’ve seen these QR codes in stores, or advertisements. No bigger than a postage stamp and are a combination of postal codes. Can be scanned by an application that can be used by next generation mobile phones.
