The Villalobos Family
Chapter 1, Episode 2
BEAUTY AND BADNESS
by Fernanda Villalobos.
“Hoshi, I only have one piece of advice- Go home!” I was drinking with my friends when I saw my rebellious cousin, Hoshi, drinking alone.
“Not until Papa Adolfo apologizes to me.” Hoshi said he was in a disguise but I don’t see that. Since we were young, Hoshi and my younger brother, Dolf, were fighting for Papa Adolfo’s money and attention. But, for some reason, Papa Adolfo’s favorite grandchild is Dolf. Everybody knows that. Nobody cares except two persons in our big family, my cousin, Hoshi, and my Dad.
In my case, I love our big family. I equally love Hoshi and Dolf no matter how silly they both are. I also love Papa Adolfo though he makes a lot of decisions that only our loving grandmother understands.
My paternal grandmother, who is usually referred to by the media as Madam I. or Madam Isabelinda Marquez- Villalobos, shares the controversial reputation of our grandfather. She was known as the beautiful, silent, obedient, and unintelligent wife of a rebellious politician.
I resemble Madam I. I’m so proud of that. But I seem to have inherited also her not-so-flattering IQ. Most of my cousins are known for their exceptional intelligence. Well, probably I wasn’t made for that. That’s why I became an actress and a model. I guess this is what unintelligent beauties are for.
“Do you think your fans like what you’re doing now? Why don’t you just go home, make more songs, and produce a new album before the public forgets you?” I know that the only thing that will convince Hoshi to go home is his singing career.
“Nobody will ever forget the name Hoshi Koizumi- Villalobos, Sis.” Hoshi smirked.
“You’re right. Maybe, the people would never forget you. But with a lot of new singers popping out nowadays, do you think you can maintain your singing career if you just sit your ass here waiting for Papa Adolfo’s apology? Go home, do something with your career and make Papa Adolfo proud!”
Hoshi’s face brightened. “That’s the most intelligent thing I’ve ever heard from you, Sis!” Hoshi hugged me and kissed me in the forehead.
“You don’t have to be euphemistic.” I smiled.
“You will be the first one to have a copy of my next album!”
I felt so happy being able to convince Hoshi to go home. When I walked with my beer going back to my friends’ table, a very gorgeous man blocked my way.
“Andrianna Villalobos?” The gorgeous man’s face was familiar but I don’t recognize him exactly.
“Yes, I’m Andy Villalobos. Do I know you?” I smiled and tried to flirt a little.
“Ah…” The man hesitated for an answer. “Not exactly, I’m Ken Diaz.”
