An experimental short story.
Lucy
Chapter 1
Lucy.
I know I don’t write you often enough. I miss to hear the sound of your voice. I slept with Vanessa last night- turns out she loved me. Her family was very proud of her, but then again whose parents are not proud of their own daughter?
There are birds outside. Oh, how the remind me of you. Their sweet tweeting reminds me of the beautiful sound of your voice.
You could have become a singer, you know that? The most beautiful in the world. I hope you are happy. I am.
This morning the postman asked me, what happened to Vanessa. Bet he also slept with her! Some people just don’t have any honor, do they?
I mean this girl has a boyfriend. He works down at the mill, actually I’ve seen him there. Hope his last shipments go as well as planned. He is really preoccupied by his work. Never has time for his girl. What a pity! I could not imagine treating you like this. Tonight is our great night. I remember, when we first met, it was like magic. I knew we would be happy forever- and we are, right. I have left the potatoes in the oven; better hurry before they get all rusty and stuff.
I love you
…
Having finished his letter, Jack went into the kitchen not hearing the news report:” A 17-Year old girl and her boyfriend were found dead in their apartment this morning. The tragedy becomes even more scary looking at the brutal way they were killed: Vanessa X. was found tied to her bed, police has confirmed, that she was raped in this position for at least half an hour. When her boyfriend came home and heard her screams, he ran into the room triggering a trap, which was set up to shoot him and decapitate his girlfriend with a meat cleaver…”
Chapter 2
It’s such a boring night. My hands are sweaty and my legs have become tired. Worst of all I have this huge scratch all over my back. I cannot go swimming looking like this. I mean, seriously; the last time I was so deformed was the day my dog was killed. “He” grabbed his neck and choked him, but let him go in the last moment trying to punish him even more. What a sick, disgusting human being. When I tried to save my dog, he nearly bit of my arm.
