Refresh. Refresh. Refresh. She wasn’t exactly sure what she was looking for, but she knew it was there. Somewhere, out there in the bright open world of the Internet would she find the one person on earth like her. She had been looking for years and was growing concerned that her theory had little proof. Regardless, like a mouse to cheese she continued. 

After the clock had struck one she knew she should probibly go to bed. Now it had struck two she decided to shut down the laptop. The room was dark, for she hadn’t realised the bulb in her lamp had died. Her left hand stumbled for her phone, it was here somewhere. Flash. She pressed the menu button and it lit up – a picture of fantasy, a seemingly limitless highway coming to a tip in the centre of the screen. Going forward, with an inevitable direction and increased pace it would never reach its destination – nor would it ever give up.

Landing on her bed, the other half of the king size pristine and hospital like. She fitted into the mould her body had made in the mattress over the years and picked up the days paper. Often she found news was only interesting when it was about to go out of date. The headline read: Mysterious Lady-Killer Still on The Loose as New Body is Discovered. Though she would only read stories about murderers out of the curious interest she believed all humans shared for violence this time she paid more attention. “The killings have been central to the Piccadilly area, police can find no pattern in the locations” She stared through the paper. A killer on the loose, who only targeted women. A killer that could not be caught, a killer that could be anyone. This time it was made all the more personal for her. This time it was where Maggie lived.
