Here is some background information on the writing of a sex scene and a link to the story.
Hello hello hello my brother and sister flash fiction writers and short story writers. The Old Soldier has a real treat for you today. So, let’s get to it.
The apartment building is quiet and I can see out the window the snow piled on several rooftops. One thing about this building, it has an excellent heating system. It’s radiator heat which makes my little apartment nice and comfy on this overcast winter’s day.

Today is perfect for sitting at my workstation and writing an article for Triond about writing flash fiction.
The link I have for you is to a flash fiction story that is all one sex scene. I think this particular story might be called micro-fiction, or short-short, or post-card fiction. The terms are really unimportant. It’s the structure of the story that is important. It is the same structure every short story has, no matter what its length is. This story is short and sweet.
One of the beautiful things about writing a really short story is, every element that goes into the writing of a short story is there for all to see. This is what you have.
A short story needs tension or conflict. The tension in this story is provided by sex. A short story, no matter how short or how long, must be about a significant event given closure. Well, if this man and woman were having sex together like always there would be nothing significant about that; but this is the first time they are having sex with each other. That’s the significant event.
There are three kinds of closure: a summation, a change in direction or an epiphany (realization). The closure in this story is a summation of the situation. So, now you know some of the background details that went into the writing of this little gem. I hope this article helps you to think more clearly about your own efforts at writing the short story no matter how long it is.
Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you Flash Fiction: When She Cums She Screams.
