A story about a little girl who loses her battle aganist Leukima.

Mandy was once a carefree little girl, who loved to play with her friends and have sleep overs on the weekends. She liked learning new things and was very active. But one day that all changed, Mandy started complaining of tiredness, it seemed that no matter how much sleep she got she was still tired. She started getting bloody noses which no one could explain, her legs were covered in bruises, that she hadn’t gotten when playing.  As each day passed her parents got more and more concerned and they took her to the hospital.

In a grieve voice, their family doctor told them that thier once carefree daughter had Leukema, he explained to them that Leukema was Blood cancer, her parents felt scared, scared for thier daughter and very worried. The Doctor explained to them about the treatments that would kill the bad cells in thier daughters body.

Mrs. Brighton, explained to her daughter that she would be losing her hair, because of the medicine that she would have to take to get better.  Mandy cried, she loved her hair, she had thick curly black hair. And now because of the treatments she’d be bald.  With tear crusted eyes, Mrs. Brighton hugged her daughter one last time before a nurse came and took her to start her treatments.

Everyday, Mr. and Mrs. Brighton would go and visit their daughter in the hospital. Too allievetate the mood, they would talk about her favorite television shows, or crack jokes, sometimes they would read her favorite stories, of course visiting time wasn’t too long because Mandy was sick and needed plenty of rest. So when it came time to say goodbye, it was always bitter sweet.

One day the doctor called them, and told them that the treatments weren’t working and that Mandy was likely to die at any time. Both Mr. and Mrs Brighton rushed to the hospital, afriaid that they would be too late.

But when they got there, they were glad to find out that, Mandy was still hanging on to life, she looked frail and her complexion was sallow, but she was alive. Mrs. Brighton cried tears of joy as she hugged her daughter, as did Mr. Brighton.  They contemplated saying thier goodbyes before it was too late, but neither of them wanted to beleive that thier daughters death was possible, they wanted only to beleive that she would get better, and that saying goodbye would only mean that they’d been defeated by the illness. So when visiting hours ended they left the hospital, without saying thier final goodbyes to thier little girl.

The Doctor called them the next day informing them that thier daughter had passed away during the night. They cried regreting that they hadn’t taken the time they had left to say thier final goodbyes.

End of part one.
