This is blog about all I did today that seemed wrong to a couple of people that I felt were angry with the world.

Stepping out of my house this morning, I saw kids on their way to school, heard birds chirping and of course the blaring horns of impatient cars to ruin the mood. I said to myself, it’s gonna be a regular day”. Thinking back now, I guess I jinxed it with those words because I couldn’t get a cab to work and had to wait at the curb for about 30minutes.

I got to my destination and handed the driver what his meter said I owed him; he looked at me with as much scorn as he could muster and told me my fare was at least twice the sum I gave him. I pointed the meter out to him and his eyes almost popped out in shock! He said the meter must be faulty and I jokingly said “I’m Christabel not meter but nice to meet you too”. Wrong timing? I know; just couldn’t resist it. To make up for my faux pa, I thanked him with a bright smile and I added an extra sum. Expecting a grateful response,, I stuck my head in the window to hear it but was thrown aback when he drove quickly and almost took my head with him!

A kid walked up to me and begged me for some money to eat; seeing some bigger begging boys around, I took him to the nearest food vendor and bought him alot of food also bought him bread in case he wanted to share it with his family members. He took it all and murmured a thank you. I asked him if he didn’t like all I bought and he replied “all I needed was the money”. So much for good will.

As if that wasn’t enough, I called the attention of a lady to what seemed to have dropped from her bag and she shouted at me saying “can’t people just learn to mind their business? Been trying to toss this away for a while since there is no bin in this area and you people keep calling my attention to it? I know, I freaking know its dropping because I am the one dropping it! Since you were so nice to point it out, here, please help me dispose of this!” With that she stormed off. Wow!

Last straw that gave birth to this, was the cab I took home. We had agreed on a said fare and he repeatedly said he did not have smaller denominations so I won’t be getting any change. I guess he was hoping I didn’t have change for him because he gave me a withering look when I climbed out of his cab and gave him the agreed sum with nothing more than a thank you. Gave me a second scornful look when he heard me say thank you and 20minutes later, you are reading this.

Are things what bad in your area or even worse? I’ll be looking forward to reading your responses. Meanwhile, I better not saying anything about how tomorrow might be ‘cos, I don’t want to have 2 jinxed days in a week. Think its better someone else gets it.
