Mercy!

Avon is a bachelor and do you know Oh/ how would you?  He is only sixty years young and wants to get married?

Regrettably among many, may be out of any numbers of Girls, Ladies or Women; Avon did not find a suitable match. He often says he wasn’t fit for a marriage or was it the other way around? I don know? It’s all HIS game!

I depend on HIM. I shall marry the one whom HE chooses to be my partner?

People who come to the town’s weekly house of worship; while leaving the Church would often wish him and enquire axiomatically about his future plans? Too often Avon would reply contentedly: of course shall let you know during your next visit to the prayer.

Every one from the parish loved him for his simplicity and honesty. He had lost his parents in a car crash when he was only ten years young. Avon would not have survived the tragedy but for the providential arrival of then Brother Daniel on the crash site?

The life ahead of him was a big challenge. It was akin to an unending long night. But the GREATEST of ALL chooses whom HE chooses? This is what exactly happened in the case of Avon. HE chose him.

Moment the car collided Head on against an on coming petrol tanker, miraculously the rear door opened of the car and Avon was the only one to be thrown away out of the car. Unfortunately his parents were not lucky enough and they got collapsed in the impact. The tanker skidded to a side and turned upside down and the contents caught fire.

Among the survivors of the crash were four of them. The lorry driver, Assistant Driver, an unknown passenger Avon who was discovered by a stranger but a kind sole!

It was all over by the time the patrol police and fire brigade assistance had arrived, Rest of the traffic in both the direction was suspended for the time till the debris and the dead were removed. No body paid any attention to the survivor.

The traffic resumed its normal run but almost every one slowed down their car by applying the brakes on the spot of the accident. May be to  satisfy their curiosity? Daniel was one such driver who spotted Avon still lying close in the bushes not far away from the accident spot.
