He gets a call that his wife was in a car accident early in the morning and heads to the hospital, it’s about what happens when he gets there and on the way.

Bad News

Early one December morning the phone rang. John Sandos crawled out of bed to answer the phone. “Hello?” he said into the phone thinking this better be important. The voice at the other end claimed it was a secretary at the hospital. His wife had been in a car accident and was at the hospital. He slammed down the phone and leaped out of bed. He never thought he would get a call like this. Why Does bad stuff always happens to the unsuspecting and undeserving. He ran out to the car still in his pajamas and jumped in. It was freezing and he noticed a layer of thin ice on the road. He peeled out of his driveway and rushed in the direction of the hospital.

Guilty Conscience

He took every turn he knew of that would get him closer to the hospital with minimum traffic. He couldn’t help but wonder if she was dead or not. He felt so bad, just the other night when he got out of work he went and hooked up with someone at the bar. he couldn’t believe he did it. He knew he had to explain everything to her. He loved her with all his heart yet still he couldn’t help himself with stuff like that. He knew he had to tell her everything.

Road Trip

He was flying. He blew by a family making a snow man and the thought passed threw his mind. What if she dies. Well never have a chance to experience something like that. He slid through another corner barely keeping control of the car. All he could think about was her. He pondered the question, Why is it you don’t appreciate what you have till you no longer have it? The question ran through his head and he tried to push it out. He couldn’t bare to even consider her being dead. He slid around and went into a tree. He tried to fight the black haze that slowly consumed him and he passed out.

The Hospital

When he woke up he saw her. She was sitting next to him, a couple scrapes and bruises but she would live. A tear ran down his cheek and he went to hug her but instead only felt sharp pain run through out his body. “Take an easy there, you were just in a car accident.” She said grabbing his hand. He couldn’t hold it in, he spilled his guts to her, everything the cheating on her and realizing he had made a mistake and wanted her to forgive him. He told her how he couldn’t imagine living without her which is why he was rushing in the first place. He told he was planning on getting a day job and quitting his night one. He couldn’t stand not to be able to spend time with her and wanted everything to be better.

Aftermath

She eventually forgot and trusted him again. They had two little girls. They moved to Florida where it never snows and raised them there. Both of them were great people and got along great. They will both be greatly missed and will never be forgotten.
