MOSS MURPHY, P.I.
By: Dave
Moss Murphy was sitting at his desk in his office going over paperwork from his last case, a messy divorce, where he represented the husband in the matter. Murphy looked at his watch; it was now 8:53, his 9 a.m. client would be arriving very soon. Moss stood up and looked into the mirror, which reflected his tall, 6′1″frame. The p.i. straighten his tie and brushed his medium length curly brown hair. On Murphy’s desk to the right was a photo of his girlfriend, Elizabeth Romero an English professor at the University of New Mexico. Liz was 43 and Moss 54, both agreed was a good age difference. On the left side of his desk was his in basket full of invoices, correspondence, mail and a couple of case files. The wall in back of him was home to his U.S. Army honorable discharge and his investigator’s license. Moss had been in this business now for fifteen years, right after getting out of the army. He loved this work, solving crime problems and he made a good living. Liz thought it was too dangerous of a job and he should perhaps go to law school and lawyers were in demand in New Mexico.
