Drozin helps Saint Nicholas become a mall Santa in Westchester County.
Ever since Drozin and Ramshief had worked with Saint Nicholas and his son Michael, they kept in touch with the immortal. The audio and extended 3-D recordings of the performances of Drozin at Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall were sent to the North Pole in the dimension where the family lived. When Drozin found out that a mall in Westchester County had no Santa for Christmas, he thought of Saint Nicholas immediately. Who better to portray Santa than the real thing?
Drozin shifted to the dimension where the man was living and transported to his home to talk with him. He met with him and his family in their home one night during dinner. Roast beef, boiled potatoes, green beans and mushrooms, and snow ice cream was served by elves to the family and Drozin their guests.
“Sir, I don’t know when you last visited your home dimension. But a lot of things have changed. Then again, the happiness I’ve seen in the eyes of children sitting on the laps of Santas is genuine. And those men are only actors. Wouldn’t you like to go somewhere where you are needed and will be appreciated? There is a place where hundreds of children would love to see you. It is within 50 miles or so of where I live.”
“Sounds intriguing,” said the saint. ”Where is this place?”
“It is what we call a mall. It is called the Jefferson Valley Mall. It is located near a town called Yorktown, New York. The employment agency that supplies Santas has not resigned its contract with the mall which refuses to pay any more for mall Santas than it paid last year. You could be there to hear the wishes of children and make them happy.”
“But I already know their desires and most are selfish ones. My son and I have tried to persuade parents to not give into the foolish wishes of their children. But it seems to get tougher all the time to convince parents to do what is good for their children and for other adults. Even they can act like children at times.”
“Maybe if you were there, the true spirit of giving and sharing would envelope the area and parents would do what is right and not be pushed by their children to cater to their selfishness.”
