Mr. Amazing needs to rescue his boss from kidnappers who think he knows more than he is letting on.

Drozin followed the camera complaints up into Westchester County where the car was exchanged for a third car.  Its description was passed on to the Connecticut police and about 15 minutes later, the car was discovered in a parking garage empty.  That meant a fourth car was being used.  But Drozin was able to image it the best of any of the cars he produced projections of.

He decided to hyperaccelerate himself and follow the latent energy signature of the car and occupants at 30,000 times normal speed.  He excluded the images of the other fields and followed the car to where it stopped inside the garage of a house outside Waterbury.

While one of the kidnappers was on the phone making ransom demands to the receptionist, she tried to contact Drozin.  But the office was empty.  No one had seen him leave.  So they had no idea he was in Connecticut.   All anyone knew was that both Drake and Bob were gone.

Drozin removed the tube that was running from a bottle containing sodium pentathal into Bob’s arm threw the needle into the ceiling.  He carried Bob gently out of the house and down the road about 100 yards before transporting with him to the parking garage where his car had been left.  He then transported to Bob’s office and entered the bathroom that was inside his office for his convenience.

After resuming normal speed, he became Drozin again, flushed the toilet, and left the bathroom to enter the office where two of the writers were waiting.

“Sorry guys.  I got a little nervous and had to go to the bathroom.  Have they found the boss yet?”

“Mr. Cambell, someone says he is holding Bob for ransom and wants $10 million or he will kill him,” said the receptionist over the intercom.

“Are you sure about that?  Are you absolutely sure about that?”

The phone rang and Drozin picked it up.  He put the person on speaker phone because he knew who he was.

“Hey guys, I’m all right.  So stop worrying about me.  I was taken by some kidnappers.  But then I found myself in the parking garage they took me from.  I think maybe Mr. Amazing may have rescued me.  I hope I can thank him, if he did it.”

Drozin said, “It’s good to hear you’re all right.  Maybe the kidnappers can be picked up wherever they are.”

“I think it might have been in Connecticut somewhere.  I wasn’t allowed to look out the windows of the car.  But since the sun was still in the east and the car was heading in that general direction, I think the guys are in big trouble since it’s a federal crime transporting a kidnap victim across state lines.”

“If I see Mr. Amazing I’ll thank him for you.”

“You do that, Drake.  See you in a bit.”  Bob closed his cell phone.

“Try to keep the guy on the line as long as possible so we can trace the call,” said Drozin to the receptionist.

“He’s gone,” she said.  “I don’t think it was traced since the readout says unknown caller.”

“Well, at least Bob is safe and sound and headed for the office.  Let’s thank God for that.”

“And Mr. Amazing,” said one of the writers.

“Oh yeah, and him too,” said Drozin as if he had forgotten about the superhero.  He was also thankful no one had checked the bathroom when they first came in or else Mr. Amazing would have a lot of explaining to do as would Drozin.
