Mr. Amazing stops an attempt to destroy the Lincoln and Holland Tunnels.

“They’re going to be discovered eventually.  I left everything in a motel room near the Newark Airport.  You can go ahead and scan me and pick them up.  If they aren’t picked up, some unfortunate woman in housecleaning will probably blow herself up and destroy several rooms on two or three floors.”

“I’ll go get them,” said Drozin.  “I can transport them into the sun and no one will know a thing.  It will be like keeping a drop of rain from hitting the ground during a downpour.”

He turned to Jangmen and asked, “Did you know my friend Ramshief was here in this dimension?”

“Yes I did.  Why do you think I brought the sonic bombs to blow out the surveillance units.  What were you using?  Insects?  Dots?  Stickers?”

“Dots,” said Ramshief.

“Smart.  They’re cheap and expendable.  Also, these primitives would probably think they’re looking at sand.”

Drozin asked Jangmen, “Why did you want to destroy the tunnels besides wanting to satisfy your perverse desire to destroy things and murder multitudes?”

“That’s pretty much it.  I enjoy what I do and I try to do the best job I can.  I can’t help it.  I have no feelings of remorse because nobody I know dies.  And even if I do know anyone I kill, I don’t shed a tear.  I guess you could say ice flows through my veins.”

On Drozin’s face a smile grew.  He started to laugh.

“Why are you laughing?” asked Jangmen.

“I heard that there was a war trial up in Newgate back in 1946 in which both Nazi and Japanese war criminals were judged and those who weren’t sorry for what they did were sent directly to Hell.  Maybe God will allow it to happen again.”

Jangmen smirked.  But Drozin scanned his mind and found there was a small tinge of fear.

“That’s a good idea.  I’ll bring him up to Newgate and have them handle him up there,” said Ramshief.

Seconds later, Ramshief and Jangmen transported up to Newgate where the unrepentant killer would meet his fate.  Drozin transported to where the bombs and their delivery system were located and transported them up to the sun where they were vaporized on contact.  No astronomer observing the sun even noticed the nearly undetectable explosion.

The next day, rush hour was murder.  But at least it didn’t become actual murder.
