Drozin has to shut down the drug cartel that Jesus Montoya was dealing with and decides to take most of them on.
Drozin was watching TV in the main viewing room when the news anchor said, “Jesus Montoya was killed today in the Federal Prison in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania by three inmates. They are believed to have been working for the drug cartel which Montoya received illegal drugs from. The testimony of Mr. Amazing and his own testimony in court targeted him for death.”
The lawyer that defended Drozin in court said to the reporter, “I feel a little responsible for his death. But the Constitution is written the way it is written to protect the majority of the citizens. For too long, criminals have hidden behind its provisions thinking that misinterpreting the Fifth Amendment would prevent their need to confess their crimes in court. Sometime next year we hope to defend what I did in court in front of the Justices of the Supreme Court in Montoya v. New York State. Even though he is dead, the case will still be presented if the Justices are in agreement. I will of course argue for the state. I really don’t feel bad that Montoya is dead.”
The phone rang.
“Ramshief Hooganvisor is on the phone. Should I let him speak with you?” asked the computer.
“Sure. Put him through.”
“Are you watching the news?” Ramshief asked him.
“Sure am. I don’t feel sorry for Montoya dying. But I have a feeling this is more than just a friendly call about what’s on TV.”
“You’re right. I was contacted by the feds to tell you they want you to help them shut down the drug cartel Montoya was dealing with. The supply of drugs coming in from Columbia has increased since Montoya was put behind bars. The DEA shut down the one means of bringing drugs into the country. But they are still coming in by various means. But if you shut down the source, the flow should be stopped or at least cut down to a trickle.”
“That sounds like a great idea. Tell the DEA that Mr. Amazing is on-board. When does Washington want me to start?”
“As soon as possible.”
“I’m glad I stockpiled issues in the warehouse. I’ll tell Bob I might be out a few days.”
Drozin transported down to Cali where the cartel Montoya was dealing with was headquartered to meet with the DEA and Colombian government, despite its ineffectiveness in fighting drugs. He met with them as Mr. Amazing in a government office which looked more like a bunker than a federal building.
