Murder Mystery Weekends are good fun and something that appeals to those interested in amateur dramatics.

You arrive at the Hotel on Friday and amid the chink of glasses, the greetings and introductions, you have your first chance of establishing who are the characters and who are your crime-solving companions.  You dine together and wait for the action to start. During the evening a murder happens and the Police arrive to question everyone.  This is where you begin to try to solve the crime.  The Police set up an incident room where they show the exhibits.

Next morning you are free to go shopping and sight seeing, then you meet up for lunch at the hotel.  You can all discuss your theories and suspicions.  Then on Saturday evening ther is usually a dinner dance where another murder takes place.

On Sunday after breakfast, everyone is gathered together by the Police, who explain the motives of the suspects, point out key clues, and finally, reveal the murderer.  You will by then know how good you were at figuring out who was the guilty party.

Every story is a little different than the others, but mostly they follow this format.  To fully enjoy the weekend, go in fancy dress.  Be a character you invented for yourself.

Murder Mystery Weekends are the killing game.  Do you want to take a stab at it?

This sounds fun. I have attended and also hosted a murder mystery dinner party where everyone knew their “part” and arrived acting out their specific role. The evening would span around 6 or 7 hours and was much fun!

I would love to go to one of these. It sounds like Agatha Christie’s murder mysteries.

These kind of Murder weekends appear really deadly? Is this some kind of drama Roserta?

  • Rosettaartist1 on Oct 10, 2011

Yes Gaby – a great fun time for those who are interested in amateur dramatics and things like Agatha Cristie books. There are actors who run the scnarios and the guests have to fall in with it all and try to guess who did the murder or murders from all the clues the actors present.
