Find out exactly what a mutant is. This is fiction.
The term mutant is pretty self explanatory; a mutant is a genetically altered species. Mutants come in all different shapes and sizes. Mutants have existed for almost ever so it would be impossible to name all of their historical moments. Instead I’ll give you a more up to date history of mutants.
Some of the animals in today’s world are in fact mutated. Weather or not they were purposely mutated or on accident. Every mutation is caused by humans. The most known area used to mutate animals recently was area 51. This is where today’s idea of an alien comes from, a monster, etc. In area 51 scientists conducted many experiments for the U.S. Military to create the perfect G.I. Soldier. A couple examples of succeeding and failing experiments include a man whose limbs were shrunk instead of growing. This caused extreme muscle loss and the loss of all movement. This experiment, as you can see, failed. A succeeding experiment was with a dog that gained super strength but also gained two times as many body parts causing the dog to panic and loose control of it’s body. Nevertheless they kept on experimenting until they finally created the G.I. Soldier, A.K.A. G.I. Joe. These G.I.s fought in every American war starting with World War I. The G.I.s were the most succeeding Mutants ever recorded throughout history. Unfortunately some of the G.I.s were in japan during the nuclear explosion causing him to become what’s known as a super mutant. Their Memory was wiped clean due to loss of brain cells, their strength tripled and their skin gained a greenish texture. These monsters were nearly unstoppable for weeks until the radiation fully decayed the brain. The U.S. Government hid the bodies of these beasts in area 51 and tested on them until they made an enhanced G.I. that could resist radiation.
