Nicola walked down the memory lane to her good old school days which she shared with her girl pals. It was full of laughter and fun but it was also quite challenging surviving in a missionary school ruled by the sisters.

“You are the best person to offer this gift to Sister Ada, Kelly..because you are the prefect and she will not suspect a thing!” said Flora.

Kelly was convinced by Flora to pull a prank on Sister Ada on April Fool’s Day. She did that and poor Sister Ada became quite shaky after that but Kelly was no longer the prefect after the incident. She hold it against Flora till this very day.

“Wow, look at those handsome blokes at St. Nicholas…those rugby players have such big and strong biceps!” screamed Clara. Clara had always like to be flirtatious with guys and she was the organizer of our high school prom. Clara was given 20 demerit points for possession of a school boys magazine and she never forgave Sister Ada.

“Do you know that Mr Philip Gay-man has finally retired from St. Margaret’s?” asked Kelly. Mr Phillip Gay-man was the only male species in our Convent school and he taught Biology and he hated the girls for embarrassing him with obscene remarks and vulgar gestures.

“Why can’t male produce eggs, Mr Gay-man?” asked Clara. She shot a seductive look towards Mr Gay-man and he turned as red as a tomato.

Mr Gay-man could never teach and he stayed on because he could not get a job elsewhere and poor Sister Ada had to save him from the powder incident when we decided to put flour on top of the door to stop him from entering the classroom. Both Sister Ada and Mr Gay-man knocked into each other and they actually danced across the floor like a pair of lovers..what a scene!

“Sister Ada has got dementia now and she can’t remember us at all,” said Kelly. Sister Ada quit St. Margaret’s a few years back and she has one wish and that is to open a cafe to provide good food for all the students.

Kelly, Flora, Clara and myself (Nicola) take turns to run the cafe on weekends just for old time’s sake and our children are re-living our glory days at the Convent school. St. Margaret just celebrated its 100th birthday yesterday and she is still going strong!
