There was a legend of a man who seemed to be so mediocre. He left his mark on how we think of tough life.

“If Andy sees that, you”re fired. You aren’t quite yourself today,’ Johnson told her.

The dialogue between Hophen and Heren had not ended yet. They went on talking.

“I appreciate. After second thought, I decided to resign from my job anyway,” he said.

She knew that he had something hidden in his mind but she could not make him speak out. She only could tell him, “Thank you for your work here. Take care and good luck.”

Afterwards, he came back to his work and Andy talked to him, “What”s happened? Is there something serious you can’t handle? Just tell me and I must help you if I can.’

“Thank you. It”s not a big deal. She just wanted to know why I resigned,’ Hophen said.

“It”s strange. In the past, she did not come here to ask the staff who handed in their resignation letters. You’re special, aren’t you?’ Andy grinned and asked him.

“No, I”m not. I’m just an ordinary staff here. You must be kidding,’ he answered with a smile on his face and then looked at Heren walking away from the Meteor’s.

Sometimes the junior staff did not find themselves abject until they were treated abjectly. On one occasion, a customer threw rubbish at Hophen’s arm while he was getting a trash bag changed. He felt so undignified but he did not say anything. He only looked at the man who did so and the man said to him that it was not wrong for trash bags to collect trash. Hophen found him rude and his excuse unreasonable. The man could have thrown the rubbish into any one of the other bins nearby before Hophen’s bin was set well and should have apologized to Hophen for throwing the rubbish at Hophen’s arm. As a staff to serve the public, Hophen among others had to adjust his self-esteem to fit his job. In fact, the 5-day course before actually working in the park told all staff that their wages included swallowing up the customers’ savage acts and the park would not provide assistance for the respect of the staff.

The day almost finished. Hophen felt that there was something he had not done yet but he did not know what it was exactly. He might want to say goodbye to Marie but he did not think that it was good to do so. If he did not say it to her, he found that it was certainly impolite. To him, the greatest distress he left at the Café after tomorrow should be Marie. He did not know how to relieve it. It seemed that he had a lot of things to say to her and a lot of worries to remove but at the same time he found it not easy to locate where to start helping himself. Hence he only looked at her without her notice and fantastically thought that she was nice enough to forgive him if he really left without saying goodbye.
