Today  was a bit of a stressful day. First thing that I ran into was having help that I thought I could depend on wasn’t there. So in a short moment of distress , sometimes I work best under pressure at times .I came out not letting the help I needed discourage me from proceeding to make my actions as far as me pursuing to get my point across and make it on time to my court date.

The lawyer / slum  landlord which was my previous landlord showed up in court today with a paid lawyer of his own on his side. The judge asked both of us to state our case or claim which we did. The landlord tried to lie to the judge saying I would not let the workers in my place to do repairs. Which was a lie. Who wants to live in molded conditions. Also why would I not let them in to do repairs if I complained about the matter for three months straight. I callled the main office to get my request heard as well that also went ignored.

 The trouble began in December  2009. The slumlords did not take any action untill I called code enforcement on them. When they did come in and do repairs they painted on top of the mold. Which I could have done myself. Code enforcement told the owners in March of 2010 that they would be fined if they did not complete repairs up to code by a few more inspections.

The slumlords neglagence led to my property like furniture clothes ,shoes, being damaged ,bathroom floor rugs, towels, not to mention all the headaches, shortness of breath,& vomitting I encountered along the way. So I had all the evidence to support my claim of the landlords allowing me to live with mold which can in the long run can turn into a number of health problems like brain tumors, lung cancer,& the list goes on from children developing autisim and the elderly it’s worse on as well.

Please people you don’t always need a lawyer to fight a slumlord in court. You can always represent yourself and still win . I won the first time on this & with god on my side I did a better job than the paid lawyer did today my evidence speaks for it self so I will find out if I won this appeal a second time as well. Beleive in your self ,if I can win on my first attempt in smalll claims court with out a lawyer you can too!
