A tragic story of my unfortunate pencil case, smash.

One warm summer day, before the start of a new school year, my mother took me to Office works to buy my school supplies. It was this fateful day i would meet my companion and pet, Smash the Pencil case. I knew from the day i brought him he would guard my stationery for life… or so i thought.

It all started when i wend down the aisle full of pencils, rulers and… pencil cases. I saw multiple copies of pencil cases which all looked the same and weren’t unique but among the millions of pencil cases there he was, Smash. Smash didn’t look like any of the other pencil cases. He was completely unique and I knew that nobody else could possibly have owned him. I took him to the cash register and paid for him. That receipt was like his birth certificate.

The next day I started my first day of year 10. I chose to sit next to my friend for the whole year. At first my pencil case stayed clean but over the few weeks and soon months, my pencil case changed. He was growing up. At first he just had been coloured in with different coloured pens but soon he suffered a serious injury…

His injury was quite severe. It was a cut wound to his fine stitching. at first the hole was bearable but soon my mate decided to rip him… I quite felt sorry for my pencil case and being a medical doctor in the fields of stationery i decided to stitch Smash up. I used many staples.

This would not be the end for my smash. He would not die of such an injury, quite possibly because he was a pencil case, and that he was never living but despite the somewhat odds he pulled through and lived on. I attached paper clip bandages to his staple stitching’s (not really medically safe) and he lived on. I decided to use colourful paper clips to attend to his self esteem and i knew inside Smash’s calculator brain and glue stick heart he was happy.

As of tomorrow i will undergo my school certificate and i can only wish I could take Smash with me, but unfortunately the BOS requires a see through case, plastic rulers and pens, not the black pencil case known as smash.

This will not be the end of smash, however. I intend to let him live in my school year attending year 11
