Short tales.

A unanimous shout answered and the British ship’s sides appeared suddenly covered from stem to stern by a double line of helmets. The mob threw enemy cries of rage, especially when receiving the cloud of arrows launched by the English archers in the center of this motley crowd, composed of men of all colors and tastings, Normans, Sicilians, Genoese, Levantine and Moors. The confusion of the two pirates on board was great and dreadful slaughter, because the archers threw their arrows and darts from the top of the huge galleon, dominating enemy decks. In addition, this compact mass, ready to approach the point they believed to be harmless unless merchant ship, never missed a single arrow and the pirates fell in heaps, dead or wounded. While the men of arms for that purpose had launched two anchors on board enemy ships to prevent the withdrawal and the three ships were joined by a double bond of iron, pitching heavily.

Then began one of those frantic struggles, bloody and heroic, not mentioned by any historian, not called by any poet, of which there is no other sign or monument that a powerful nation, happy and a coast devastated by the depredations not a time afflict the region.
