This is a story about real life.
My strange friend
Two years ago, during my summer vacation, I met a very strange but charming girl. Her name is Mary Smith. I remember like it was yesterday the day we met…Every morning I used to play with my friends in the schoolyard. We played and played all day long. In one of those days, a little girl showed up and said”hello”. We all stopped and looked at her for a few minutes. We realised that we haven’t seen her before. The boys were all astonished by her beauty. She was quite tall and thin. Her brown eyes, her small nose, and her long and shinning hair transformed her in a real princess. She looked like an angel… She was well dressed and she was very attractive. I invited her to ply tennis with us and she accepted. After two games we realised she was very good at it. We became friends. She seemed a very sociable and kind person. After a week she told me that she wasn’t a normal girl. First, I thought that maybe she ment that she had a physical problem. And I was right… She showed me her left hand. I noticed that she had only three fingers. For a few seconds I was terrified and I felt so sorry for her, but then I realised that this thing doesn’t make her a different or strange person. She told me that her dream was to become a famous tennis player. She was ,indeed, very ambitious and she had a strong character. I admired her very much for her courage. Even if she had only three fingers she was decided to fight.
We spent our summer vacation together. We went to the mountains, where we stayed for three days. She was very happy because she had never been to the mountains before. One day she asked me if I believe in supernatural power. I started to laugh because it looked like a joke…but it wasn’t a joke. Mary was serious about it. She asked me to bring her a book and to turn the first page. I made what she said. In one second she managed to turn the next page without his hands….At first I was very afraid and I panicked, then I started to scream! Mary came after me, trying to explain what really happened. She finally told me that she discovered that power when she was just a child and that I was the first person who knew her secret. I rejected her saying that she is strange, too strange for me and that I don’t want to see her again. She started to cry and before leaving she said:”I thought you were my friend…”. The next day I realised that I was wrong and that Mary was right. I felt very bad because I disappointed her when she most needed me…I decided that the best thing to do was to see her and apologise for my behaviour, so I went to her house. She invited me in and she told me her story. I apologised and I also promised that her secret will be safe with me and no one will ever find out about her power. She was so happy..! Since then, Mary is my best friend. I consider her my sister and I love her very much.
