It was August 14 and time for me to take my yearly vacation my wife and family wanted to do some thing different that year in 1988. So we borrowed a pop up trailer from one of the men in our church and set out for Bangor Main. We were so happy as we pull out of the Church parking Lot in Flint Michigan. Heading on a wonderful trip of a life time. We did pretty good till it started raining. I said to my wife Wilma we must pull over in a church and get us a trailer spot for the night it was already  dark. I pulling and payed the man for the night and got out in the rain and started to put the Pop up trailer up for the night. But for got which end you put up first I must have put up the wrong end because I could not get it to go all the way up. I was soaked to the bone My wife was crying kids were not happy they were tired and wanted to go to bed. I said we still can get in the trailer we might get a little wet but we still can lay down . My wife said but we can’t let the people see us in the thing looking like this we have to get out of hear before every one gets up in the morning . And so just before day light we pull out and headed down the road again. About noon I turned down a wrong road and we got lost . There was no big wide place to turn around and I said to my wife Ill just pull in to a drive way of the next house and turn around and when I did that trailer jack knifed and I could not get it turned around I back up pull forward many times little by little and when I finally turned around my wife was crying again the children were up set and I was wore out. And when I finally got out Some thing broke it was the trailer hitch. I call and got a welder to come and weld it back so we could go on out way. We decided to stay in a motel that night and go on in the morning. When we go to New York Police told up we could not get in to  Main they had a Storm. So me stayed in New York for a day or two in a Motel. And drove  to My Parents Home the next day and spent the rest of our vacation at my parents home I parked the trailer and  took it back to Flint Michigan and have never wanted to pull a pop up trailer again .
