Mystery Mission

Going in they thought this task would be ordinary, no challenge for men of their skill. They were told to take out the targets and that was that. They couldn’t infer anything with the given information, but they were used to this treatment. The trio was insular, always isolated and kept out of the real tactics and plans. None however could say that they did not execute with perfection, they had a propensity for this line of work. The men were suiting up, an aura of anticipation and excitement hung about the room.

A man, known as Skolar, entered the room and inspected the men. Skolar was an affable man, always pleasant, but his speech was erudite as if he had swallowed a dictionary. A second or so after Skolar entered two men carried in a sleazy looking crate. “You must use the weapons and gear provided in this crate nothing else goes with you, save your Battle armor. Upon return you will be inspected anything that is found that is not provided by us will be confiscated as contraband, again save your Battle armor.” Skolar proclaimed this to the trio, his words reverberated off the walls in the silence.

Skolar left, seemingly in a hurry and his expression inscrutable. Skolar was not at all his normal self. Dutch stepped up to the crate and opened it. He muttered something scurrilous under his breath, no doubt one of his curse words he invented. “This gear is awful, it’s also low tech. I’ve read about these guns, they’re resilient as they almost never need Maintenance. They’re certainly not my style.” Churched paused, examined the crate again, then continued, “Any smart weapon specialist would repudiate these, just chuck them out. I say we remonstrate against this whole operation. Were normally not well informed but this is annoying and querulous.”

Dutch came over and looked down and it was plain he did not like what he saw. Aeocyn looked at Dutch and said, “Dutch what are you thinking? Our position is irrevocable, after the incident last time were holding onto our ranks by a gossamer. The thin line may just break if we argue, so don’t get one of your sedulous rages going. Whatever is about to happen we will handle it like we always do.”
