A boy talks about his lightning-strike experience.
The boy was at home during a thunderstorm and to prevent the trash from blowing down the street, he went and got the trash can. He set it beside his house and proceeded to jump over it, he was then struck by static-electric discharge. He told his mom and said that his shoulder was hurting. It was ignored until later when his back started hurting, then his mother called the paramedics.
A mother let her child go out in a thunderstorm.
She then didn’t do anything when he said he was struck by lightning and that his shoulder hurt.
She thought that if he was struck by lightning, that he would be dead. Actually, lightning doesn’t always kill a person when they are struck. The amps of a lightning strike interrupt your heart beat and cause it to stop. It only takes 7 milliamps to stop your heart. Although, this is how a defibrillator works. It puts electricity through your body in an attempt to kick start your heart. A lightning strike can both kill you and bring you back in the same strike, therefore, it’s possible to not die from a lightning strike. Many people have done it and I have even known a few. One of them worked for a local weather station and was struck 3 times while working on towers. The only problem he had from it was he was blind in 1 eye. But he survived!
Even with the chances of the boy surviving a real lightning strike, his mother still should have never let him go out in a thunderstorm for any reason.
