We are the victorious English. The Spanish Armada has fallen to us. Of course the result was expected but the questions that will be answered in this article are: what has cause this war was Lord Howard a good leader, what happened to the Spanish at Scotland and the battle along Gravelines.

So how or when did this all start? In 1558, king Philip II of Spain offered to marry Elizabeth 1 of England, just 30 years later in 1588,he sent a fleet to invade our realm. The Spanish took a whole year to recover from the attack they had a ships up to 130 (22 warships of the Spanish Royal Navy and 108 converted merchant vessels), 19,000 men, 1,500 brass guns and 1,000 iron guns.In most of them are soldiers and novas sailors. By the look of it his plan was to be able to port at somewhere in England the use the soldier to take over England. But his dark heart was not contempt (like all people with power) he wanted more foot men; therefore he decided to pick up some of Duke of Parma’s army. He was Philips nephew, who was making he was from the Netherlands. In the Spanish Netherlands an army of 30,000 men awaited its arrival.
