Part 4.

I spent the whole night laying on my bed, looking at my Gran. I didn’t sleep, I couldn’t. At around four I got up from my bed and started to move around the room. I attempted to make the smallest amount of noise possible. I picked up the drawing pad and pencil from my desk and sat back on my bed. I began to draw anything that came into my mind. A dragonfly, a duck, an elephant. I covered a whole page in random drawings. I started to draw my Gran, she was fresh in my mind and I wanted to clear my head. I drew all the details of her face. Her big round glasses and her shoulder length silver hair. Her rounded nose and her bright green eyes. I focused on her face and something surprised me. The Gran I had been seeing my dreams wasn’t like the Gran I remembered. Dream Gran had blue eyes and short gray hair and the biggest part was she didn’t wear her glasses.

I jumped up from my bed and went into Keith’s room. “Sleeping beauty, wake up. I have to talk to you.” I sat down on top of Keith. “What? And get off me.” I moved from the bed to the floor. “Alright. I wouldn’t do this if it wasn’t important but I just realised something.” Keith sat up and looked down at me. I was sitting cross legged on his floor. “What? Did you realise that you’ve been horrible to me and I’m only trying to help you? You’re a jerk, you know? And that’s not what I realised. So right, I was just drawing a picture of my Gran and thanks to my extraordinary yet annoying memory, I realised that the Gran I thought I was dreaming about isn’t anything like the Gran I knew. They’re completely different.” Keith looked at me and shook his head. “You woke me just for that? Why couldn’t it have waiting another thirty minutes when your alarm went off? Shouldn’t you be sleeping not drawing?” I laughed. “Oh and I love you too, Keith. I couldn’t sleep and you’re a grumpy bitch. I thought it was important but obviously not important enough for you to care. Goodbye. Come see in two hours when we have to leave.” I stood up and walked back into my room. I closed the door and stood here for a little bit before I moved to my bed.
