There have been many stories of magical creatures, but few have captured the imagination of so many over thousands of years as that of Dragons. Fables, folklore, myths and legends have been told over and over of Dragons; whether from the north, south, east or western parts of the world.
Welcome to this fictional world of Nogard.
Prolog
Nogard is a world run by Dragons that possess the ability to take the form and live among the humans they protect and care for. Humans carrying Dragons blood contain some magical abilities that vary with the amount of Dragons blood running through their veins.
The humans and the Dragons have always cohabitated together. Fact was the humans looked to the Dragons for everything in their lives from protection to provisions and in return the humans would pay homage to the Dragons.
The humans lived simple lives where the men did all of the building, repairs, inventing and so on while their women did all of the household chores, tended the children and made sure their men were well cared for when they returned home from work. No woman was aloud to live alone without a man to look after them regardless of their age. Those that did live alone were open to mistreatment and had bad reputations.
Women were treated with the greatest of respect and highly regarded in their household. The fact that the women ruled the home was a given. Men made decisions in the field of work, business and community affairs and while the men had the final say in matters regarding his family the men took into consideration their wife’s feelings when deciding.
Children and young people treated their elders with great respect at all times; even if they didn’t always agree with them. The humans were taught to treat each other with respect as well as the very nature itself. They believed there was a time and a place for everything; and everything had an order to it.
Nogard had a population of three million, now thirteen million; most of which could be found centered within cities and villages scattered throughout the lands. The Cities contained beautiful castles belonging to their Dragon King Protectors. The largest of the land masses of Nogard was divided into four kingdoms out of five known as good Dragons that lived back then.
