In small country of Bhutan the astrologists create horoscopes for every year. If they see that some months or days have malevolent star combinations, they inform their king about it. The king just crosses ‘a bad’ month or day off the calendar, and puts there another date, which is lucky. That is why Bhutan can have two Augusts and no July, for example. This is a very good way to make yourself happy by removing things you don’t need in your life. Step eleven.

I don’t know if they do it nowadays, but I am absolutely sure that Bhutan’s government had this habit twenty years ago. Unfortunately, we do not have power to change the calendar, but we can change our lives. We can avoid many bad situations, which from time to time occur on our way. Everyone has to decide for oneself what to aspire or to avoid. Everyone can take the unwanted things out of one’s life. How? It is very simple. Just imagine that you are a king (aren’t you?), and you have the power to change the events in your life. Put an end to bad things with a magic wand (in our case, it’s a pen) on a piece of paper and that will help you make that important eleventh step on your way to happiness.
So, why not being copycats? Draw two columns on the page. Write down the things or events you like in a Good Column and events you hate in a Bad Column. Try to think positive and copy the steps that have caused good event in your life. You can avoid bad things in your life by not repeating the steps that have brought you to failure. Think how. A solution will be found. Trust me. It will definitely happen.
Here’s one simple example. If your appendix were ruptured, you would have an urgent surgery to cut it off to stay alive. Right? You would not stand such awful pain and wait for your physical death. So why should you stand the mental pain and wait for the death of your feelings or desires? Are you going to suffer for all the rest of your life? It brings depression, anxiety and stress. Cut it off. Forget it.
How to cut bad things off? I know the only way, which helps me whenever I need to heal my mind, soul or heart. I use the recipe described in the previous chapter: I think positive, work hard and always keep my mind busy. I involve myself in every possible project, act on stage, write books, poems and articles, I wake up early and go to bed very late to exhaust myself to not being able to think of that unlucky event. I cross that day off in my calendar. It doesn’t exist, it’s not there anymore.
Time is the best doctor. Soon, I find out that I am happy again and the sad memories are not disturbing me anymore. At this point I usually start a new page of my life. Literally… And last, but not least - don’t forget to always smile. It helps a lot! So, good luck with step number eleven.
