Do you know that human beings are as happy as they dare? This is a well-known fact. And other way around – people are as unhappy as they want. That means we are responsible for our own happiness.
I’m always smiling. I have always been smiling, and always will. I am sure that the smile makes your life longer. This is my philosophy. All my friends think that I am the happiest person in the world. Ok, I don’t mind. They usually say, ‘You’re always smiling! You cannot have problems! It is impossible for you. You’re the most positive person in the world.’
For some reason, when I was 18, I decided that if I stop acting as normal smiling happy girl, I would draw more success to my life. Instead, everything went wrong, and there was no success. I broke up with a nice boyfriend; studies at my University went extremely bad, even my teacher told me that she couldn’t recognize me anymore. I taught English and French, but most of my students decided to quit, so I was penniless. What to do? Why has it happened to me?
Suddenly, one unpleasant thought dawned on me, “I am the reason of my own unhappiness! I opened the door and let it in.” It was painful to get out of that state. Nevertheless, I have done it!
First of all, I started to smile again. Then, I returned to my studies and placed an ad in a local newspaper about private lessons of English and French. All those steps were done with a big smile on my face and straight shoulders. In two weeks I had five private students, a new boyfriend and good marks at Uni. Everything came back to normal.
During my unhappy days I have created a pitiful poem full of complaints and tears. Later, my poem horrified me, which brought me to the following conclusions:
1) I had to stop my versification or;
2) I had to stop being unhappy.
Paragraph number two was chosen: since then I turn my usual complaints into the poems and use them as a medicine alleviating all diseases of my soul and heart.
Don’t be upset, if you do not have the gift of a poet. The scientists of different countries came to the conclusion that the works of all poets in the world have the unusual power as they can influence your soul, mind, intellect, and body. Japanese Buddhists, for example, organize poem readings in the full moon because they can relax and be inspired during such sessions. If you are upset or depressed, read the verses of other poets.
Unhappiness is another thing we don’t need in our life. How to get rid of it? Calm down, and remember that if there is no way out, there’s always a way in. You have entered this situation; turn around, find the door you came through, and open it. It’s not too easy but doable. Pull the knob and the door will let you out.
However, if you don’t want to walk out of your niche, persuade your unhappiness to use this door. Smile and show it the way out. As soon as it leaves, shut the door, lock it and turn around.
Good luck and keep smiling
