Slaves plant the seed, harvest the land, clean our house and cook our food. The way we look at things we have it made; having a slave brings luxury to a family. Have you ever thought to think about the hard ships a slave endures to bring luxury to a family though? Each and every slave had a home, had a family and had their own luxuries in life until one day someone came into their house and stole them from all that they had.

Stolen from home, afraid under board and having no sense of where the future is taking them. Your house is full of loved ones, so were your slaves’ homes before they were taken. They used to be surrounded by the ones the love until mom, dad, sister, brother, aunt uncle were pulled away from the family  to come work for people on new land. Not only were your slaves stolen from a very loving and dear family they quickly became disorientated, not knowing where they were going or what would happen to them.

If you are an owner of slaves don’t only think about yourself think about them too. Their skin may be a different color but they are still people who used to have families of their own just like you. They weren’t born to do your work, they weren’t put on this world to make you money and they didn’t want to be sold to make your like luxurious. Some people have realized how horrific the life of a slave must be and have released them. Many go not realizing the hardship they’ve gone though and it is up to, the people, to tell them about their pain. Slaves are people too.
