                        Packing bags

                                    Chapter One

Hitler’s reign over Denmark has ended and King Christian X has made a parade as a celebration. Shops are opening, kids are playing, and I am relaxing with my wife Ellen. I am reading today’s paper when my wife asks me to refill the baby bottle for her…. It seems like little peter has quite an appetite for such a new baby!

As I am reading I see an ad about a new country called America. I scratched my bald head, of course Ellen knows that I do that when I see something peculiar or interesting so she asks,

“Thor, what’s wrong?”

I reply “I see an ad about a new country called America but it doesn’t say how to get there and there is only part of a phone number! It says 685-9648.

I just don’t get it!!!!

She then shakes her head and tells me the thing “you need to add the area code you dummy! So after you add the area code on it will be 739-685-9684.

Ohhh my! Thor, look at the time you may be late for work I think some people want builders to build a few more shops!”

I then get my bags and kiss baby peter on the cheek and kiss my wife before I leave. When I get to work I go talk to my good friend Thomas.

I ask him “Thomas, did you hear about America?”

Thomas says “sure I did! My cousin in Switzerland has already went there and says it is a paradise!!! The jobs are really good paying and easy to find and it is totally democratic and was never owned by Hitler.”
