It started as a fight over a dog but ended with a man killing his daughters boyfriend and then himself. Police responded to a call about gun shots late at night. When they arrived on the scene of the murder, Edward Kuemper at age 49 was found dead along with, Bradly Morrison dead with him. The gun was still in Kuemper’s hand when police arrived. Morrison was sent to his girlfriend’s house by his girlfriend to pick up the dog. Kuemper refused to hand the dog over. This is when Kuemper pulled out a .40 caliber hangun and shot Morrison twice then shooting himself.

Neighbors said that the Kuemper parents were always very protective of their daughter. Other closer neighbors said they could always see the tension when Morrison came over. All residents in this Palatine neighborhood were shocked hearing the news.

Shawn Anderson lived in the same apartment as Morrison and said this.

“He basically had a new family with them,” Anderson said. “His future was going to be with them. … He was a real nice guy trying to get his life together.” 

Many are still shocked by this report but police are looking for more of the story still. This story is likely to have some updates on why Kuemper would resort to violence over a dog.
