A homage.
But before that something else happened. In summer, the old Major, gathered for their Lordships fathers. And October 1 moved banker Moller into the floor of Captain Petréus.
Stellan met now and then his old foster-brother’s parents on the stairs. Donald Moller’s two younger brothers had taken over large farm, where he once reigned supreme. They had discovered the major’s house, which now stood empty and took possession of it by young robbers initially muted but eventually everything bolder and louder right. They had also drawn a lot of other boys into his paradise, where, after some time installed four rabbits, which sometimes break was in the yard.
Stellan was sometimes looked down upon them from his window. And with a certain sadness in full contempt, he noted, how times have changed, then one day he himself was a child, how unimaginative and oridderliga boys Moller games were compared to his own. What a glory it has been above them! Rabbits – - – What could that be fun to play with such dumb animals?
There was no trip to Lund on Christmas. His grandmother was sick. Some days there was talk of the danger to Gothenburg and celebrate the weekend there. But finally decided captain Petréus that they would stay home.
A few days before Christmas came Donald Moller home from the Naval Academy in Stockholm. Stellan was about to go out, when he saw him coming from the station, surrounded by parents and siblings. He was in uniform and armed with a dirk. Stellan nodded to him. Donald was separated from his family, went up to him, pulled off his gloves, shook hands and said:
– Good da, da good, Stellan, here go still and trudge.
– Yes, said Stellan. Grandma ä sick, so there was no trip to Lund.
– Yes, it va not like that I meant it. I mean, here you go yet and trudge.
