The life of a fisherman, and the joy it gives him.

They say that a fisherman’s life consists of fishing all day and thinking up lies. But this story is a little bit different. The fresh salty water breeze, the waves of the sea coming and going. Watching the color, changes with the movement of the water. It’s not only the fishing, but also every thing else that goes with it. The heart and sole a fishermen puts into it, some does it for the enjoyment or entertainment. But for some other fishermen it’s away of life. “We would say it’s a hard life”. The day before he goes out to sea. He makes a list of everything he needs; He goes and gets it all together. From going out to getting the bait, the hooks, fishing lines and etc. the enjoyment that he gets in his face, that tomorrow is going to be a better day. Like a man that has everything, the passion for fishing only a fisherman knows how. This particle fisherman I know started at the age of fourteen.

In the Azores islands, some said, that he loves the salt water of the Atlantic Ocean; he could stay out there forever. Some others would, said he went out to look for mermaids. I know, at the age of fourteen that’s not hard to believe in mermaids. But one thing is for sure, it earned him money; when his friends didn’t have any. But that wasn’t all, the enjoyment that he has in fishing. Something most of us don’t have in our jobs. He’s up in the morning before the break of dawn. Getting his fishing gear ready to go. Hoping to go out and catch that big one today. He thinks to himself is it going to be better then the day before. And hoping that the weather is going to be excellent some times, it hard to tell. But fishing, he is going. Miles away from land he looks around. He thinks to himself, could this be the spot. For hours, he stays in the same place. Didn’t catch much so he move on, looking at the weather hoping it holds’ out. From spot to spot he move on, but now it’s getting late. It’s Time to head back, with the catch that he caught. Did he catch the one he was looking for or is it still out there? Was today better then the day before or is tomorrow going to be better. The life of a fisherman! How this fisherman, does loves fishing? On his days’ off, he goes in fish at the pier or by the seashore. What’s going to be the catch of the day? Is it: flounder, sawfish, sardine, eels, salmon, trout, cod, haddock or something else!
