She sat down and a conversation ensued between them. Phoebe – “So how is life these days Theo” ?

Theo,” fine I am waiting to hear from my employers if I have been made redundant or not. We received a letter which informed us there were going to be cut backs on staff and that there would be some redundancies”. “Really am sorry to hear that” Phoebe said.  “There is so much of that going on at the moment at the moment I hope you will not be one of those laid off. Soon we are all going to have to go self Employed because no job seem to be safe out there. “

Phoebe continued- “ even in the jobs that one considered  to be safe, before you knew Management was cutting backon staff,  so as to cut costs or bring in some new computer or some expect to help with efficiency which soon lead to job cuts to enable Management to  save on costs of running the Company.

Well she continued;  What could anyone do but to just wish and hope it did not affect them”. She then asked Theo  “would he like another cup of tea?”  ”He said yes he wouldn’t mind.” She went  back and brought another cup of tea with a sandwich on a plate.  “Hum Theo says I love your sandwiches;” Yes I know that’s why I made you one.

Phoebe said;  ”You were saying before I took over the conversation from you.”  Yes Theo took  over the conversation: ”Just cut backs at work, and the daily grind to and from work. My neighbours, you remember them Kate and Tom they got into some difficulty with the Police nobody knows the details yet and they are not talking about it.”  Hm Phoebe went. “ What else?” Not much said Theo. ” Heehaw said “ Phoebe.

It was certainly nice of you to stop by, I have enjoyed your company. When were you planning for us to go that concert ?”she enquired (Phoebe  Loves Music and was always interested in attending Gigs)  Theo did not answer but enquired how was Frank? Phoebe answered he was fine, she did not see him as often as she would like to.  He was here the other day, those flowers over there came from him.  He took her out on her birthday to celebrate. They went to a nice restaurant and they had a nice time.”  (Phoebe just turned forty but does not look, feel, nor act that age she was so young at heart ) (Hy Hy Hy Hy hue she chuckled )

Theo said “ so, you have not given him the boot yet” !  No Phoebe replied she thought  Frank was there to stay. She loved him and Vise Verse.  Theo went quiet and said he supposed he better made his  way back home and see what he  could  do around the house.”  He got up took his coat,  put it on and kissed Phoebe on the cheek and said “good bye lovely as always. He hoped Frank knew what he had.”  Phoebe smiled and said she hoped too, before it was too late with such a big grin on her face;   Just the shear mention of Frank, and her thoughts of Frank brought  such warmth and joy to her heart.  She always remembered her last outing with Frank.

Theo opened the door and waved goodbye to Phoebe.   Phoebe stood at the door and waved goodbye back to Theo and repeated  ”thanks ever so much for stopping bye I enjoyed your company.”  She stepped back in and carried on with her days activities.
